How Do You Find Out Where Ants Are Coming From in Your Kitchen?

ant problem

Have you noticed an ant or two in your home? Or are you noticing more ants than just one or two?

If you are seeing ants in your kitchen or anywhere else throughout your home consistently, then it’s likely that it’s more than just an ant or two in your home.

If you’re worried that you have an ant problem, the first thing you need to do is figure out where the ants are coming from in your kitchen. If you don’t know where they’re coming from, it can be hard to get rid of the ants.

Here are some tips for how to figure it out!

Look Around the Areas

The first thing that you can do is look around the entire perimeter and area of the kitchen. To do this thoroughly, use your flashlight so that you can see in darker areas.

You need to check every nook and cranny, so this means that you should be looking under your refrigerator and behind it, moving your stove, moving the dishwasher, looking under the sink, and in the backs of your cabinets. Using your flashlight in these areas will help you see if there are ant issues.

However, you need to look a little bit deeper into specific areas where ants tend to go. For instance, ants may be found in floor drains if you have them. If you notice the majority around there, this is where they are coming from.

The ants may also be inside the motor areas of microwaves as well as refrigerators. Be sure to double-check this area.

If you have wallpaper, check around the edges of the wallpaper to see if the ants are coming from behind it. You should also check any areas with cracks.

It’s not always easy to find them, so if that’s the case, you can try something else.

Try the Honey Peanut Butter Test

If you’re only finding a couple of ants, this does not give you a hint as to where they are coming from. In this case, you need to do the honey and peanut butter test to help attract the answer to the spot. When you start attracting ants to a specific spot, you’ll be able to see a trail for where they’re coming from.

To do this test, place a jar lid on the ground with a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of peanut butter on it. Pay attention to what the ants choose to eat cause this can help you get rid of them down the road.
